Policy and Industry

I am passionate about applying scientific methods and academic knowledge to inform policy-making. To that end, I act as an Behavioral Data and Algorithm Engineer at Pairity, a Canadian startup employing technological solutions to facilitate refugee resettlement and labor market matching worldwide.

As an Algorithm Engineer, I design matching systems to pair refugees resettled from conflict zones to private sponsors, taking into account the preferences of both refugees and their sponsors. This work is a pioneering effort in refugee resettlement worldwide, which often overlooked the preferences of non-governmental stakeholders and refugees themselves. My work with Pairity has contributed to the resettlement of more than 400 refugees from conflict zones in Ukraine, Latin America, and Africa into Germany and the United States.
